Foreign Languages

Knowing a foreign language enables you to communicate with the people you meet overseas, travel more easily, and experience the culture in greater depth. You don't need to be fluent to travel and live overseas. Many business schools overseas teach in English so you can keep up with classes while improving your language ability. Consider adding language classes to your curriculum.

Language Instruction

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literature offers class in 9 languages.

Majors: French, German, Spanish
Minors: French, German, Russian, Spanish and French for Business minor

Other languages: Chinese, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese

Language Minors

  • You can complete a language minor in French, German, Russian and Spanish by completing 18 hours (6 classes). This can be accomplished by following this checksheet.
  • The French for Business minor offers three options

    - French for Business Concentration (1000 & 2000 - level classes)
    - French for Business Minor (1000, 2000 & 3000 - level classes)
    - Advanced French for Business Minor (1000, 2000, 3000 & 4000 - level classes)
